GIARDINI MARINARESSA

GIARDINI MARINARESSA GARDENS

The Marinaressa gardens are located along the Riva dei Sette Martiri, the monumental waterfront of the city of Venice. It was built in the thirties of the XXth century with the intention to have a place to celebrate the city. It replaced a long sequence of shipyards, which for centuries had operated in the area. The gardens are situated in the Castello district, alongside the part of the San Marco basin between the Arsenale and the Biennale Gardens.

The gardens are the extension of the Riva degli Schiavoni. Before arriving at the Giardini of La Biennale, the two gardens of Marinaressa are the Ponente one, recently reopened to the public by the ECC, and the garden of Levante. The two gardens, newly renovated and now by the ECC yearly improved, frame the complex of houses of Marinaressa. They are just a short distance from Piazza San Marco, overlooking the laguna.
